Alex Hall Taylor has been appointed new Managing Partner of Carey Olsen British Virgin Islands offices.

He replaced corporate lawyer Clinton Hempel, who founded the law firm’s BVI office back in 2013.

According to Global Legal Post, Hall Taylor joined Carey Olsen as a partner in 2020 after two years at Maples and Calder, prior to which he practised at 4 New Square for more than 15 years.

He will continue to lead the firm’s BVI dispute resolution and litigation team alongside the managing partner role.

Additionally, Tom Carey takes over the leadership role of Carey Olsen office in Guernsey.

Carey, who joined the firm 19 years ago from Morgan Stanley, has succeeded Russell Clark, who has spent the past 17 years leading the Guernsey office.

The Global Legal Post June 19 report said Carey and Hall Taylor will work alongside group Managing Partner Alex Ohlsson.

According to the company website, Carey Olsen is a leading offshore law firm advising financial institutions, corporations and private clients on Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Guernsey and Jersey law from a network of nine international offices.
