High School Students Submitted Winning Festival Theme And Slogan
Anjanique Cheltenham of the Elmore Stoutt High School and Asia Riviere of Bregado Flax Educational Centre Secondary Division each received a cash prize of $250 for submitting this year’s Emancipation Festival-winning theme and slogan.
A June 15 Virgin Islands Festival and Fairs Committee statement said Cheltenham winning theme is “A celebration of our freedom with cultural flair and creativity while embracing our unique diversity”, while Riviere’s slogan “It’s a Cultural Jamboree so let’s Fete and be Free for Festival 2023” captured the essence of the festivities.
“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Anjanique Cheltenham of the Elmore Stoutt High School, for her exceptional submission and believe this theme will inspire and unite our community, celebrating our freedom, culture, and diversity in grand fashion,” the Committee noted.
Adding that “we are equally excited to announce the winning slogan submitted by Asia Riviere of Bregado Flax Educational Centre Secondary Division.”
Additionally, Rev. Yvonne Nibbs-Flores was selected as the 2023 Parade Marshall.
