Two Held With Glock Guns – Casheem Walters And Khalil Winter Charged With Possession Of Illegal Guns And Ammo

Two men were on Saturday, June 10 arrested with two glock guns and ammunition during a patrol by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force Armed Response Team
in Parham Town on Tortola.

Casheem Walters, 33, of Josiah Bay, Tortola, and Khalil Winter, 23, of no fixed place of abode, were each charged with carrying an unlicensed firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

A June 12 statement said officers of the RVIPF were on patrol when they arrested the the duo armed with the two illegal guns and ammunition.

They will appear in Magistrate’s Court at the next available sitting.

Meanwhile, detectives of the Criminal Investigations Department continue to investigate two robberies which occured on Tortola – June 5 Pickering Street robbery and June 8 Purcell Estate robbery.

The statement said in the early hours of June 5 an armed robber held up four persons in a parking lot along Pickering Street near the Elmore Stoutt High School.

The bandit stole cash and jewellery and two victims sustained minor injuries.

“The RVIPF is continuing to do its part to reduce the number of illegal firearms on the streets and to capture those in possession of the weapons. The Force is appealing to the public to get involved in saving lives and keeping the community safe by providing information on suspected persons or the locations where these firearms are being hidden or imported,” the statement stressed.
