Nine students are competing to become the 2023-2024 Mr and Miss Student Ambassadors of the Eslyn Henley Richiez Learning Centre on Tortola.

In a June 8 press statement, Principal Vansittart Huggins said three girls and six boys are participating in the contest which will conclude with an award ceremony on June 20 at 1p.m.

The parents of participants were given sponsorship letters to gain votes worth $1 each from the public. The male and female students with the most votes will
become the Mr and Miss Student Ambassadors of the Eslyn Henley Richiez Learning Centre.

“Parents were given a letter and a sponsor sheet from the school to solicit funds from the community, with each vote valuing $1.00. The funds received will help to go towards activities at the school such as field trips in the Territory and overseas,” the principal explained.

Principal Huggins has asked the public to support the fundraising initiative, adding that each student participant will be awarded in a tangible way during the award ceremony later this month.

The Learning Centre provides quality special education, emphasising individual growth, self-esteem and respect for all, the statement concluded.
