Another First In Sport – BVI Selected For U-23 PanAm Games Beach Volleyball Qualifier

British Virgin Islanders J’adon George and Jaroy Daley have created history by securing a spot in the Under-23 Pan American Games Beach Volleyball Qualifier.

The duo departed the territory today, June 1 for Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

The Under-23 North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) Tournament will see 12 countries competing for ranking points as part of the qualification system for age-group international events: Antigua and Barbuda, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and Saint Kitts and Nevis.

The newly Virgin Islands Volleyball Association said they are extremely proud to have a Under-23 team represent the territory for the first time at the PanAm Games Qualifier.

Team coach is Reno Morton and the two players are expected to return home on Monday, June 5.
