BVI Twin Power Dominates Southland Outdoor Track & Field Championships
British Virgin Islands twin power Diamante and Djimon Gumbs dominated the discus and shot put at the 2023 Southland Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Texas, United States from May 6 to 8.
Following three days of competition in the Memorial Stadium, Diamante was named Conference Champion in Discus and Most Valuable Performer in Men’s Outdoor Track and Field. He is now the BVI national record holder in the weight throw with 17.62m.
Djimon, who secured a silver medal in the discus, was named Conference Champion in the shot put. He also won bronze in the javelin.
