BVI Junior Athletes Win 13 Medals Including Four Golds In Antigua

Jecoliah Jones, Daniel Clarke and Malik Mitch and the Girls Open 4×100 Relay team won gold medals for the British Virgin Islands at the 10th Annual Sir Reginald Samuel Track and Field Classic in Antigua and Barbuda.

The two-day regional track and field meet opened on Saturday, May 6.

Jones won the Under-13 Girls Long Jump, Clarke secured first place in the Under-15 Girls Long Jump, while Mitcham won gold in the Under-17 400m race.

Meanwhile, Jamelia Chambers crossed the finish line in second position, securing a silver in the Under-17 Girls 400m.

More silver medals came from Shakhoya Richards in the Under-13 Girls 100m, Taryn Augustine in the Under-17 Girls 100m, M’Kenzii Crabbe in the Under Girls 100m and Chrisonda Pinnock in the Under-11 Girls 300m race.

The territory’s Men’s Open Race 4×100 Relay team crossed the finish line in third place winning bronze.

Jaylen Fahie won another bronze in the Under-11 Boys 300m race and Tiffany Herbury also took home a bronze medal in the Under-13 Girls 100m

The Top Notch Track Club travelled with a small delegation to competition with coaches
W. Potter, S. Augustine, R. Victor and Y. Smith.
