British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority workers with National Bank accounts were not paid on April 15 due to “a situation that is above and beyond the control” of the agency.

In a leaked letter, Acting Interim Chief Executive Officer JM Samuel apologised to the staff and reassured them that the funds are expected to be processed on Monday, April 17.

“It is with regret that I confirm an unavoidable delay in the deposit of salaries to members of staff with National Bank accounts. I wish to sincerely apologise for this inconvenience. This delay in salary deposits is as a result of a situation that is above and beyond the control of the BVI Health Services Authority. However, please be assured that I am on top of this situation and salary deposits are expected to be processed on Monday 17th April 2023.”

She acknowledged that she is “fully aware of how such a delay might affect some of you and I once again apologise for this unfortunate situation.”

Samuel added:
“If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly.
