On March 23, the British Virgin Islands fought hard in their Concacaf Nations League C Group D game against Puerto Rico at home, but when the final whistle was blown, the scoreboard was 3-1 in favour of the visitors.

The crowd came alive at the A .O. Shirley Recreation Ground, Road Town, Tortola when the BVI struck first with a converted penalty from Tyler Forbes in the 36th minute of the game.

But Puerto Rico kept up their defence and attacking strategy to secure three goals – a free kick by Leandro Antonetti in the 44th minute to even up the game, followed by a second goal by Daniel Vega and a last minute goal (94th) by Ian Silva.

In League C Group D, the BVI drew two and lost two matches, finishing with two points. This is the end of the senior men’s national team 2022/2023 Concacaf Gold Cup campaign.

Puerto Rico won all their games and finished at the top of the table with 12 points. The Cayman Islands also secured two points.
