The four candidates contesting in the Ninth Electoral District, including incumbent Vincent Wheatley of the Virgin Islands Party (VIP), have confirmed they will participate in two public debates on April 14 and 16.

Wheatley will share a stage with National Democratic Party (NDP) candidate Coy Levons, Shereen D. Flax-Charles of the Progressive Virgin Islands Movement (PVIM) and independent candidate Vernon Vanterpool on April 14 at the Catholic Community Centre in Virgin Gorda from 6pm to 9:30 pm.

They will meet again in Anegada on April 16 at the Emile Dunlop Community Centre from 1pm – 4:30 pm.

The question-and-answer sessions will give voters a chance to grill the candidates about the top issues affecting Anegada and Virgin Gorda.

Debates help voters make an informed decision on election day. Candidates will have the opportunity to increase their chance at electoral success by convincing voters that they deserve their support.

Election day is April 24.
