ELECTIONS 2023: Coy Levons on NDP ticket (updated)

(JTV News) – Former Director of Civil Aviation Coy Levons is one of the latest to join the National Democratic Party (NDP) to contest the April 24, 2023 General Elections.

Levons is contesting the Ninth District for the NDP. His challengers are the Virgin Islands Party’s incumbent Vincent Wheatley, and Shereen Flax-Charles of the Progressive Virgin Islands Movement.

Levons was appointed Director of Civil Aviation in the Ministry of Transportation, Works, and Utilities in September 2021.

According to a government press release, disseminated around the time of his appointment, Levons is a commercial airline pilot who holds an Associate Degree in Legal Studies from the University of the West Indies Extended Campus in the Virgin Islands; Bachelor of Business Administration, Master’s degree in Aeronautical Science and Aviation from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

He has served as the BVI Airports Authority’s Duty Manager from 2006 to 2010, Director of Operations from 2010 to 2019 before transitioning to the position of Managing Director in the same year, the release stated.
