BREAKING NEWS: April 24 is Election Day
(JTV News) — Monday, April 24, 2023 is the date set for the General Election in the British Virgin Islands after Governor John Rankin signed the proclamation Wednesday evening, in accordance with section 86 of the Virgin Islands Constitution Order 2007.
Friday, April 21 is Advance Polling Day.
Section 86 of the Virgin Islands Constitution Order 2007 states: “A general election shall be held at such time within two months, but not earlier than twenty-one days, of the dissolution of the House of Assembly as the Governor shall appoint by proclamation published in the Gazette”.
The House of Assembly was dissolved on Friday, March 10 and Tuesday, March 14 was the last day for persons to register to vote.
