One year later and Le’ Shaughn Smith’s murder still unsolved

(JTV News) — Friday, February 24 marked the first anniversary of the killing of Le’ Shaughn Smith who was fatally shot at his business place in Huntum’s Ghut, Tortola. And the case remains unsolved.

The police, in a press release on Friday, made a fresh appeal to the public to help it solve the murder of the 30-year-old.

The press release states: “Today marks the first anniversary of the murder of Le’ Shaughn Smith who was shot and killed last year on 24 February and the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force is making yet another appeal for persons to help in identifying his assailant or assailants.

“To date, there has been no one charged in this murder and therefore the perpetrator(s) are still at-large.

“Initial investigations suggest that Le’Shaughn was outside his business place, Big Ballers Jeep and Car Rental, in Huntums Ghut around 10pm when gunshots were fired. He received a fatal wound.

“A masked male as well as several other persons were seen in the area at the time of the shooting. Police are appealing to anyone who may have information, no matter how insignificant, which can assist in the apprehension and conviction of those responsible.

“Persons can confidentially call the CrimeStoppers line 800-8477 (TIPS) or overseas call 1-284-800-8477 with information about Le’Shaughn’s murder or any of the recent murders in the Territory.”
