Women’s Football Festival heads to eastern Tortola after VG success: BVIFA

East End/Long Look is the next location for the British Virgin Islands Football Association (BVIFA) Women’s Football Festival.
“After a great success on Virgin Gorda” the event is scheduled to take place in eastern Tortola on Saturday, February 25, 2023, according to the BVIFA’s official Facebook page.
The Virgin Gorda Festival took place on Saturday, Feb. 11.
A total of 36 females participated, the BVI reported.
Cassandra Gregg, a BVIFA coach and official, said in a news release that the Association is “really pleased” with the turnout of 26 girls from VG and 10 from Tortola.
“The girls really enjoyed the morning training and afternoon 5v5s. There were some great performances and the girls are playing and learning week on week,” Gregg was further quoted as saying in the release.
“I was also pleased with the discipline level the girls displayed and there was a great excitement from all involved,” Gregg added.
The BVIFA release said the Festival “proved to be a great launch pad to reinvigorate the game for females”.
