A young man driving a Suzuki Jimny was taken into police custody earlier today following a high-speed chase that spanned multiple areas of Tortola before ending in Sea Cows Bay.

The pursuit began in the Lower Estate area and continued through Huntums Ghut, before moving into the hilly terrain known as “Country.” The chase later descended into Sea Cows Bay via Elevator Hill, where it concluded when the driver reached a dead end at Bound Tree Road.

Law enforcement officers apprehended the suspect at the scene and recovered a quantity of marijuana from the vehicle.

An eyewitness described the intensity of the chase, stating, “It was scary and wild. If you see how that youth maneuver on the flat between vehicles and people, including school children.” The witness also commended the officers involved. “Whoever was that police driving did a good job in keeping behind him and not colliding with traffic.”

As of press time, formal charges had not been confirmed, but sources indicate the suspect is likely to face multiple charges, including possession of an illegal drug, reckless endangerment, and failing to stop at the command of a police officer.
