Rotary Club of Central Tortola Announces 2024 Car Raffle Winner
– Proceeds Support Community Development Initiatives Across the Virgin Islands
The Rotary Club of Central Tortola has announced Mr. Aneil Caines as the grand prize winner of the 2024 Car Raffle. Mr. Caines received a brand-new 2024 Changan Uni-K, generously provided by Tortola Auto Group (TAG), a key partner in the annual event.
The official prize handover took place on Friday, January 10, marking the culmination of a successful community-driven initiative. The car raffle, a signature event since its inception in 2020, has become a cornerstone of the club’s fundraising efforts, directly supporting projects that advance the Rotary mission of “Service Above Self.”
This year’s campaign also featured multiple Early Bird draws, with cash prizes awarded to Azil Nibbs, Inaaya Surtani, Victor Hodge, and Myanna Prevost. These additions were designed to enhance engagement and offer more opportunities for participants to win.
“Our car raffle is more than just a fundraiser; it’s a platform that unites the community in support of meaningful causes,” said Past President Shan Mohamed, who led the initiative. “The grand prize presentation to Mr. Aneil Caines symbolizes the spirit of collaboration and shared purpose that makes this event a success year after year.”
The Rotary Club extended its gratitude to steadfast partners, including NAGICO Insurances, TAG, and FLOW, whose ongoing support has been instrumental in the event’s continued success. Their contributions empower the club to deliver impactful projects across the Virgin Islands.
“The success of our raffle is a direct result of the partnership and dedication of these organizations and the generosity of our community,” Mohamed added.
Funds raised from the raffle are allocated to a wide range of community development initiatives, including educational programs, beautification projects, and environmental conservation efforts. These initiatives aim to uplift the Virgin Islands and improve the quality of life for residents.
The Rotary Club of Central Tortola remains committed to its mission of fostering positive change through service, with the car raffle serving as a key driver of support for its ongoing efforts.
