The Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic has officially reopened its doors today, Wednesday, August 28, following a temporary closure following the passage of Tropical Storm Ernesto that affected the availability of some services. The BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) confirmed that the clinic is now operational, though certain Allied Health services, including Mental Health and Nutrition, will be accessible strictly by appointment.

The reopening comes after the installation of mobile air conditioning units, which are now in place at the clinic. Work on these units will continue throughout the day to ensure comfort for patients and staff. Comprehensive cleaning of the facility was completed over the weekend, while repairs to the backup generator are ongoing.

The BVIHSA has reassured the Virgin Gorda community that all efforts are being made to restore the clinic to full functionality as swiftly as possible. Updates on the status of services will be communicated to the public as needed.

Clinic Operations and Services:

Operating Hours: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Contact Number: (284) 440-1661

Home Care Services: Residents of the North Sound community will continue to receive home care services uninterrupted.

Emergency Care: For emergencies after 7:00 PM, residents are advised to contact the emergency line at (284) 340-2045.
Efforts to fully restore the clinic’s air conditioning system are ongoing, and the public is kindly asked to remain patient during this process. The BVIHSA has apologized for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure and thanked the community for its understanding and cooperation during this transitional period.
