Julien Alfred Wins Gold in 100m at Paris Olympics, Making History for Saint Lucia

Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia made history by winning the gold medal in the women’s 100-meter final at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Alfred dominated the field and finished in a national record time of 10.72 seconds, becoming Saint Lucia’s first-ever Olympic medallist.

American world champion Sha’Carri Richardson secured the silver medal with a time of 10.87 seconds, while fellow American Melissa Jefferson took bronze in 10.92 seconds. Great Britain’s Daryll Neita narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth with a time of 10.96 seconds.

Julien Alfred’s achievement at the Paris 2024 Olympics has brought immense pride to Saint Lucia and solidified her place among the world’s elite sprinters.
