24-year-old sprinting sensation Sha’Carri Richardson soared to victory in the women’s 100-meter with a time of 10.94 seconds, earning her place in the semifinals.
There, she’ll face off against two-time Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and St Lucian speedster Julien Alfred. Only the top two from each semi-final will advance to the final, with the next two fastest times also qualifying.
