Man Found Dead in Dinghy Identified as Jamal Freeman

The deceased man found floating in a dinghy early this morning, July 27, was identified as Jamal Freeman.

Officers from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) Marine Unit responded to a report of an unresponsive male drifting on a dinghy between Marina Cay and Great Camanoe shortly after 7 a.m. He was transported to Dr. Orlando Hospital, where he was officially pronounced dead.

According to initial reports obtained by JTV News, an unmanned dinghy was observed floating aimlessly with no one visible at the engine. Concerned onlookers alerted the authorities, prompting an immediate investigation and the subsequent discovery of the body and the vessel later in the day.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unknown, and authorities are actively working to gather more information.
