Fourteen candidates expressed interest in joining the Anegada Land Development Advisory Committee (ALDAC) for the 2024-2027 term. Following a detailed review, it was found that two of these candidates did not meet the qualifications outlined in the ALDAC Terms of Reference. Additionally, one candidate has chosen to withdraw from the electoral process.

As a result, the list of eligible candidates for the upcoming ALDAC elections has been revised. The final roster of candidates vying for a position on the committee includes:

  • Darrell Ruan Jr.
  • Chekada O’Neal
  • Gregory Levons Sr.
  • Michael (Mitch) Vanterpool
  • Ajani Faulkner
  • Sylvia Faulkner
  • Rondel Smith
  • Alex Varlack

These eight individuals will now move forward in the electoral process for the new term, which will oversee land development issues and strategic planning for Anegada over the next three years.

The ALDAC plays a crucial role in shaping the future of land use on the island, and the upcoming elections will be an important opportunity for residents to have their voices heard through the selection of qualified and committed individuals.
