The Department of Labour and Workforce Development has successfully completed its Résumé Writing Workshop, held on June 27, marking a step towards empowering job seekers with essential skills to boost their employability.
This initiative was led by Mrs. Eulet Evelyn, the Sister Island Human Resources Manager and a seasoned educator.
The workshop saw nine enthusiastic participants benefit from Mrs. Evelyn’s extensive knowledge and experience. With a Masters in Literacy and a strong background in teaching, Mrs. Evelyn guided attendees through key resume writing techniques during the three-hour interactive session.
“We are very pleased with the outcomes of our Résumé Writing Workshop,” said Mr. Mervin Hastings, Acting Labour Commissioner. He added, “Mrs. Evelyn’s expertise and the dedication of our participants made this a truly enriching experience.”
The workshop covered fundamental topics such as crafting impactful summaries, structuring work experience, and presenting educational qualifications effectively. Participants left with either newly created resumes or significantly enhanced versions, thanks to Mrs. Evelyn’s personalized guidance and mentorship.
Mrs. Roxane De Windt-Toussaint, Workforce Development Manager, also commented on the workshop’s effectiveness. “We received overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants who appreciated the hands-on approach and practical insights shared,” Mrs. De Windt-Toussaint reiterated.
The Department of Labour and Workforce Development plans to host additional workshops in the Sister Islands, with more information to be provided in due course.
