Francis Lettsome Primary School is the Inter-Primary Schools Track and Field Champions
The Inter-Primary Schools Track and Field Championships recently concluded with Francis Lettsome Primary School emerging as the top-performing primary institution in the Territory.
Kicking off with an opening ceremony and vibrant parade of teams at the A.O. Shirley Recreation Grounds from April 3 to 5, the events encompassed a range of competitions, from 300-meter races to exhilarating four-by-one-hundred-meter relays.
The pinnacle of the championship was reached with the two hundred meter races and Sprint Medley Relay Finals, culminating in the announcement of the winning school.
Shaunice Leonard, Acting Director of Youth and Affairs and Sports, expressed her elation at the resounding success of the 2024 Inter-Primary School Athletics Championships, emphasizing the exceptional athletic prowess displayed by students across the Territory.
“I am delighted with the outstanding performances that have taken place, highlighting the importance of promoting sports and healthy competition among the youth,” remarked Ms. Leonard.
She added, “The championship serves as a platform for our students to excel, instilling teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. I look forward to the continued support from parents, teachers, coaches, officials, and the community.”
Recognition was awarded to division champions in each age group, as well as the Victor and Victrix Ludorum, honouring the boy and girl with the highest individual scores across different divisions.
