The British Virgin Islands Under-20 Men’s National Team concluded its campaign in Group A of the CONCACAF Under-20 Championship Qualifiers in Nicaragua with a victory, defeating Anguilla 3-1 at the Estadio Nacional De Nicaragua in Managua on Thursday, February 29, 2024.

Azarni Callwood scored all three goals for the Virgin Islands, finding the net in the 18th and 23rd minutes before completing his hat-trick with a free kick in the 89th minute. Anguilla’s lone goal came from Jared Smeins in the 28th minute.

The victory came after a 4-3 win over Belize on February 27. This turnaround followed a challenging start, with the team suffering an 0-8 defeat to Nicaragua in their opening match, followed by a narrow 1-2 loss to Cuba.

Despite their recent successes, the Virgin Islands will not progress to the second round, as only the winners of each group advance.
