Surfer Dies in Tragic Apple Bay Incident

A surfing expedition turned tragic at Apple Bay today, February 27 after a male was reported to be unresponsive amidst the waves.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) received a distress call around 10:45 am, reporting an unresponsive male in the water. Preliminary investigations suggest the tourist encountered difficulties while surfing.

Witnesses recounted noticing the man’s distress and swiftly intervened, bringing him ashore where immediate resuscitation efforts were initiated.

Despite attempts to revive him, the tourist’s condition did not improve.

He was quickly transported to the Dr. Orlando Smith Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
