British Virgin Islands Under-20 Men’s National Team Team Manager Nigel Williams says despite a challenging 8-0 defeat in their opening game on February 23, “the team is in good spirits” as they gear up for today’s game against Cuba in the Concacaf Under-20 Championship Qualifiers in Nicaragua.

In a February 25 pre-game interview with Jahphixtelevision.com, Williams said “yesterday’s preparation was mainly to make some adjustments for today’s game and to keep the team encouraged to go out and execute what the coaching staff ask of them. The team is in good spirits.”

The squad is resolved to make a comeback and deliver an enhanced performance today.

The BVI is in Group A with Anguilla, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Belize.

Across five different venues in Central America and the Caribbean, a total of twenty-seven junior national teams are participating in the qualifiers.

These countries are divided into three groups of five and three groups of four. The group winners will advance to the 2024 Concacaf Men’s Under-20 Championship scheduled for later this year.
