The British Virgin Islands Ports Authority (BVIPA) is excited to announce a fruitful partnership with local confectioner Ms. Jehree D. Clarke, founder of JD’s Candies, and Windstar Cruises.

Ms. Clarke has recently been appointed as a vendor for Windstar Cruises’ Wind Surf, where her renowned coconut fudge will be featured as part of the ship’s Turndown service during its visits to the British Virgin Islands.

Ms. Clarke, expressing her enthusiasm, encourages fellow entrepreneurs of all ages to consistently deliver their best work to clients. She shares her journey, explaining that the opportunity materialized when the BVIPA showcased JD’s Candies’ peppermint candies at Seatrade Cruise Global 2023. The unexpected interest from a cruise line representative demonstrates the potential reach of products, emphasising the importance of diligent follow-up to transform possibilities into realities.

Natasha Chalwell, BVIPA’s Marketing Director, played a crucial role in facilitating the connection between JD’s Candies and Windstar Cruises during last year’s industry exhibition. Mrs. Chalwell highlights the significance of seizing opportunities at such events, noting that linking local businesses like JD’s Candies with global partners such as Windstar Cruises showcases the vibrant potential within the community. She expresses pride in celebrating JD’s Candies’ success, reaffirming BVIPA’s commitment to providing platforms for local businesses to showcase the cultural and culinary richness of the British Virgin Islands on the global cruise stage.
