Prison Van Shooting Is Still An Active Case
The investigation into the shooting incident involving a His Majesty’s Prison van on October 9 is still ongoing, according to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF).
The RVIPF via their press department said on October 24 that no additional information can be provided since the case remains active.
A female prison officer was injured when the van, which was transporting prisoners to court at around 9:30 a.m., came under gunfire in East End, Tortola.
The injured officer was treated at the Dr. Orlando Hospital in Road Town. As a precautionary measure, the hospital was temporarily closed for security reasons.
