RVIPF Still Piecing Together Anegada Fatal Boat Accident Evidence

Royal Virgin Islands Police Force investigators are still piecing together evidence recovered at the scene of the May 17 fatal boat accident near Anegada.

Bakimba George, 28, of the Valley, Virgin Gorda lost his life when the 17-foot speedboat he was travelling in collided with the dock near Anegada.

Police said initial investigations indicate that about 6:30 p.m last Wednesday evening a male captain and George departed the dock in Anegada and shortly after the boat crashed into the dock, throwing both men forward.

They sustained injuries to their upper bodies and were transported to the Dr. D. O.Smith Hospital in Tortola. The boat was extensively damaged.

The captain was treated and released, but George died as a result of his injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.
