Public Testing For Ballot Scanners Set For April 18

Ballot scanners will be publicly tested on Tuesday, April 18, annouced the Office of the Supervisor of Election.

The bulletin said the Logic and Accuracy Testing Day for Ballot Scanners/Tabulating Machines also referred to as DS200s is opened to members of the public, nominated candidates and the media.

The session will run from 11 am to 2 pm at the Maria’s by the Sea, Anegada Conference Room, Tortola.

This will be the second election voters will use electronic voting with e-tabulating machines in the territory.

Legislators passed the Elections (Amendment) Act 2019 to allow electronic voting with e-tabulating machines, removing the requirement for ballots to be counted by hand for greater efficiency in general elections.

Election day is April 24.
