Silver Medal for Kenyatta Grate in the 200M U20 Finals at 50th Carifta Games

British Virgin Islands sprinter Kenyatta Grate today won silver in the 200m Under-20 final at the 50th Carifta Games in Nassau, Bahamas.

She crossed the finish line in 24.11 seconds, a new personal best.

Trinidad won the race, clocking 23.60 seconds, while Bahamas crossed the line in third place in 24.17 seconds.

The games opened on April 8 with an official ceremony at the Thomas A Robinson National Stadium and will close this evening.

More than 600 athletes from 20 countries participated in the regional competition in Bahamas.

Thirty athletes represented the territory in various disciplines over the last three days.

Carifta Games were inaugurated by Austin Sealy, then president of the Amateur Athletic Association of Barbados in 1972.

The main goal behind the well-known junior regional competition (Under 17 and Under 20) is to improve relations between Caribbean countries using sports.
