Last Chant For Althea Scatliffe Primary School
This weekend is your last chance to snap a photo of the old the Althea Scatliffe Primary School (ASPS) building in Road Town, Tortola.
Past alumni, faculty members and support staff yesterday shared fond memories of student life during a simple ceremony on campus.
Demolition of the unsafe structure started on Friday, March 31. The structure was deemed structurally unsafe in June 2022 following an assessment by Civil and Structural Engineering Limited which was commissioned by the Ministry of Education. Culture, Youth Affairs and Sports.
The 375 students and 40 staff members were relocated to various other schools in Tortola in June 2022.
The entire building is expected to be demolished over the two-week Easter school break to pave the way for the construction of a new building.
