(JTV News) — Joma (Properties) Ltd. has made a donation of $3,000 towards the BVI Athletics Association (BVIAA) team that will be participating in the 50th Carifta Games next month.

The Golden Jubilee Games are scheduled for April 8-10 at the Thomas A Robinson National Track and Field Stadium in The Bahamas.

The BVIAA said in a statement that it will “remain forever grateful” for the annual generosity shown to the Association by Joma Properties as it prepares the athletes for Carifta 2023.

Joma, in a statement, said: “We are honored to sponsor the BVI Athletics Association (BVIAA) Team, participating in the 50th NACAC CARIFTA Games with the infusion of $3000 towards the much-anticipated championships.

“In its 50 years, the CARIFTA Games has nurtured the talents of numerous athletes who went on to represent the BVI internationally. In last year’s Games in Jamaica, Adaejah T. Hodge ended as a triple gold medalist and winner of the Austin Sealy Trophy for the most outstanding athlete. We wish the 2023 BVI CARIFTA Team all the best!”
