Elderly Carrot Bay man charged for 2022 fatal accident

Police said Tuesday that Ulric Pilgrim, 72, of Carrot Bay has been charged for causing death by careless driving in connection with the vehicular accident that killed Belmont Estate resident, Henrique David Dos Santos, on March 1, 2022.
In a news release, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force said: “The deceased, a native of South Africa, was on a scooter headed toward Road Town when he collided with a vehicle entering the highway from Havers.
“Pilgrim was granted bailed in the sum of $25,000 with one surety for his appearance at Magistrate’s Court”.
Dos Santos was a helicopter pilot and co-owned Antilles Helicopter Services. He was 55.
