Minister Penn lauds BVI Diabetes Association; organisation elects executive body

Health Minister Marlon Penn has said the work of the BVI Diabetes Association (BVIDA) members is “no small feat”.
Penn reportedly made the remarks on Wednesday when the Association held its general elections.
According to the BVIDA, Penn, who attended the elections meeting, greeted everyone and left them with encouraging words.
“The work you do is important, bringing awareness and solutions to community is no small feat and you should be commended. All of you” – Hon Penn
The Associations executive body, following the elections, are as follows:
– Dr. Sharlon Lewis (President, Medical Advisor)
– Jasmin D’Aguiar (Vice President, Asst Secretary/Treasurer)
– Roschelle Smith (Treasurer)
– David Abednego (Legal Advisor)
– Xandra Adamson (Fundraiser)
– Roselia J Dawson (Recording Secretary)
– Timothy Barker (PRO)
Meanwhile, the Lions Club presented a $1, 0000 check in donation to the association to help with supplies, according to the BVIDA.
“Thank you so much to those who have agreed to serve this term! And thank you to all of our supporters! We have a lot of work to do and we hit the ground running!” President Lewis said in the release via her Facebook page.
