According to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), officers on patrol in Lower Estate, observed a Suzuki Jimny with heavily tinted windows and an obscured registration plate. When officers signaled the driver to stop, the vehicle accelerated, prompting a police chase.

The pursuit ended in Sea Cows Bay at Bound Tree Road, where officers intercepted the vehicle. A subsequent search uncovered 24.7 grams of marijuana. Maduro was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Drug and Reckless and Negligent Act.

Authorities said he was granted $5,000 bail and is scheduled to appear before the Magistrate’s Court on April 10, 2025. Additional traffic-related charges are pending.

The RVIPF reminded motorists to comply with traffic laws and stop when signaled by law enforcement. The public is encouraged to report reckless driving or traffic violations by calling the RVIPF non-emergency line at 311, the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339, or anonymously via Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 (TIPS).
