A 10-member jury delivered the verdict today, Tuesday, February 25, convicting him on all four charges after approximately three hours of deliberations.

Hopkinson was found guilty of murder, robbery, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger lives, and possession of a prohibited weapon. He is scheduled to return to court on 7 March 2025.

Hopkinson’s conviction stems from an incident that led to the fatal shooting of Catherine Pickering in April 2021. He was charged alongside Shameek Grant, then 28, and Shermar Richardson, then 24, both of whom were implicated in the crime. Grant was also charged with murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, while Richardson faced a robbery charge.

All three men were initially brought before the Magistrate’s Court in May 2023 and were remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison.

The case was presided over by Judge Rajiv Persad, with Hopkinson represented by Phoenix Law.
