Reports have surfaced that Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Pam Trevillion has tendered her resignation from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), effective February 12. However, Acting Commissioner of Police Jacqueline Vanterpool stated that she has not been informed of any such resignation.
JTV has reached out to the Office of the Governor for confirmation and is awaiting a response. The RVIPF has also responded o recent media reports suggesting that ACP Trevillion was placed on forced leave, calling those claims “erroneous, misleading, and misinformation.”
In a statement issued on February 10, the police force stated that there was no physical confrontation between Vanterpool and Trevillion and denied allegations of an investigation—particularly one related to assault—had been initiated against the assistant commissioner.
Vanterpool urged media outlets to verify information before publication, stating that the spread of misinformation could have reputational consequences for both individuals and the RVIPF. No further details have been provided regarding ACP Trevillion’s employment status.

Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) and H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) have partnered to host the Annual College Fair on Thursday, February 13.
The event, scheduled from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the Multipurpose Sports Complex, will bring together representatives from 21 colleges and universities worldwide, offering students and community members an expansive platform to explore post-secondary education options.
Chief Education Officer in the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports, Orlandette Crabbe, underscored the significance of the initiative, highlighting the strengthened link between secondary and tertiary education. “ESHS has consistently hosted a college fair, but by joining forces with HLSCC, we are creating a more impactful opportunity for our students. This collaboration not only broadens students’ exposure to a wider range of institutions but also strengthens the bridge between secondary education and post-secondary pathways. With HLSCC as a key partner, we are equipping students with the information, resources, and direct connections they need to make informed decisions about their futures.”
Dr. Richard Georges, President of HLSCC, echoed this sentiment, reflecting on his own academic journey. “As a proud alumnus of the then BVI High School and HLSCC, from which I transferred to complete my baccalaureate, I am gladdened to see us take this step together. I commend the CEO for her leadership and vision in this regard.”
Open to the public, the fair aims to serve not only high school students but also parents seeking guidance on college planning and former students considering returning to higher education. A major attraction will be the opportunity for students to receive on-the-spot acceptances from select institutions by providing their transcripts. Additionally, some universities will offer scholarships to eligible attendees, making the event a crucial gateway for those aspiring to further their education.
Among the participating institutions are 17 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Missouri Southern University, and St. George’s University in Grenada. Attendees will have access to a diverse selection of academic pathways spanning multiple regions and disciplines.

The Government of the Virgin Islands has awarded a $3.79 million contract to Connect Enterprises Limited for Phase 2 of the Cane Garden Bay Sewerage Network Project, marking a significant step in the area’s long-overdue infrastructure upgrades.
The contract, valued at $3,785,274.55, covers the installation of approximately 4,500 linear feet of gravity sewer lines and pumping mains. It also includes the construction of a main pump station next to the newly built wastewater treatment plant, as well as three smaller pump stations and two lift stations. The project aims to modernize Cane Garden Bay’s wastewater management system, addressing long-standing sanitation and environmental concerns.
Premier and Minister of Finance Hon. Dr. Natalio D. Wheatley underscored the project’s importance, calling it a “critical investment” in the area’s infrastructure. “This project will significantly improve sanitation and environmental conditions, paving the way for sustainable development and economic growth in Cane Garden Bay,” he stated.
Minister for Works Hon. Kye M. Rymer echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the project’s role in enhancing public health and protecting the environment. “The implementation of the sewer network is a testament to the Ministry’s commitment to modernizing infrastructure,” Rymer said. “This long-awaited upgrade will bring lasting benefits to the community.”
Also present at the contract signing was Hon. Melvin Turnbull, Representative for the Second Electoral District, who expressed gratitude to the government on behalf of his constituents. “I am elated that this critical phase of the project is about to commence,” he said. “This has been a long time coming, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on the people of Cane Garden Bay.”
Connect Enterprises Limited, a Virgin Islands-based company, will lead the construction efforts. Company representative Ms. Chastity George said the firm is honored to be part of the initiative. “We are committed to delivering a high-quality sewer network that meets the needs of the community,” George stated. “We look forward to working alongside the government and residents to bring this project to fruition.”
The project will include the installation of 42 manholes, facilitating efficient sewage conveyance. Upon completion, the road and adjacent sidewalks damaged during construction will be fully restored, ensuring minimal long-term disruption to the community.
